Summer Skincare Tips

Summer is right around the corner and it’s time to rethink your skincare routine. We spoke with Nicola Connolly the founder of Nunaïa, an eco-luxe green beauty brand about her top tips for achieving the perfect summer glow and they’re surprisingly simple.

Did you know our skin takes 28 days to renew? These are my top tips to get your skin summer ready.

 

Step 1: Drink up - Aim to drink 2 litres of water a day. Our bodies need water for our organs and systems to function optimally. If we’re not getting enough water, our skin will suffer as its the the last organ to receive hydration, so drink up and to avoid fine lines, dry and dehydrated skin.

Step 2: Nourish – Nourish your skin from within. Our diet has a huge impact on how our skin looks and feels. To get glowy skin in time for summer, up your intake of fruit and veg and try and eat the rainbow at every meal. A meal with varied vegetables will be packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which area all needed to support healthy skin.

Step 3: Glow – Amp up your skincare by using nourishing, hydrating facial oils and serums that are rich in antioxidants like vitamin C, A and E. The transition from winter to summer can take its toll and our skin needs lots of internal and external nutrition to get that dewy, bare skin look. One of my favourite tips is to mix two drops of Nourishing Radiance Serum in with my tinted moisturiser or makeup in the morning. It gives that lovely dewy glow to the skin, makes my make-up stay on better and not dry out during the day.
