Role: Assistant Field Visual Merchandiser

At Kilkenny we pride ourselves in supporting and promoting Irish Craft and Design.  The role of the Visual Merchandiser is showcasing the very best of our brands through visual displays and styling. The Assistant Field Visual Merchandiser will report to the Creative Manager.

As the Assistant Field Visual Merchandiser you will be highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic individual who will support our stores nationwide. You must be able to work collaboratively with each of the Retail and Cafe Managers across the company.

The key responsibilities in this role are:

  • The ability to design concepts and implement eye catching visual schemes that has a clear impact on sales figures for each store.
  • Ability to analyse weekly sales reports in order to make key commercial decisions on the shop floor.
  • Establish and build consistency of visual merchandising and styling across the group.
  • Work cross functional with buyers and marketing to execute key campaigns across the group. Establishing consistency of standards in every store is key in this role.
  • Providing support to Managers in our stores by developing step by step guides on visual merchandising displays.
  • Utilising our current props throughout the group by moving props between stores and revamping what we have.
  • Ability to manage material and prop spend – being cost aware.
  • A flair for styling mannequins and outfit building.
  • Maintaining awareness of what is happening in the market with regard to trends and keeping abreast of our competitors.
  • Planning visits to each store frequently to complete store merchandising, visual styling and campaign implementation.
  • Work with the buying and marketing to ensure promotional products and services are optimised in each store.
  • Provide coaching to the team’s members in merchandising and visual styling through face to face training or training packs. 
  • The ability to optimising space and fixtures effectively to maximise sales.

Head Chef-Sammy’s, Inch Beach

We are currently seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our team at Sammy’s Restaurant and Bar, Inch Co Kerry. You will be an innovative leader who has a passion for delivering consistent and exceptional quality food offering.

The Head Chef will work closely with the General Manager to deliver on budgeted sales and profit margin targets set down for the Business. The Chef will ensure that there is fully optimised systems and processes in place in the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and Leading a team of chefs to deliver a culture of food excellence that creates a reputation that is worth traveling for.
  • Passionate for training and development of team members.
  • You will adapt cost conscious cooking, margin protection; portion controls are systematic to ensure financial viability.

  • The GM will manage all revenue streams and expenses to create the maximum return for, ensuring the long-term growth and success of the business.

Role: Food Operations Manager

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, direction and coaching on all aspects of the Restaurant and Cafe Operations. You will support the team in achieving budgeted sales and profit margin targets set down for the Business by delivering genuine hospitality and quality food offering. In addition the F &B Manager will ensure that there are fully optimised systems, processes and procedures in use by the team to ensure that the smooth running of the business.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement -To ensure the ambience and atmosphere of the premises meets company standards at all time such as cleanliness, lighting, temperature and music, gathering information from the MoD on a daily basis. You will listen and gather customer information and ensure it is used for improvements in products and services
  • Team engagement -Train and empower teams to exercise good judgment to make decisions regarding service, product quality, and customer satisfaction by adhering to company standards. Work with the team to create appropriate developmental plans that help individuals define career goals and identify the skills needed to achieve them.

Skills/Qualifications required

  • Must have 5-10 years’ experience in hospitality management, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Authority, presence, maturity and toughness – clearly in charge and willing to enforce the standards and take the hard road – actions rather than action plans.
  • Must have recent P&L responsibility for an operation of a similar or larger scale at Food & Beverage Manager level.
  • Experience of a retail operation where customers are not captive, competitors are adjacent and aggressive, and staff are mobile.
  • Evidence of having built a strong operational team.
  • High energy levels and accustomed to non-standard working hours and effort (“whatever it takes” mentality).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, influencing and motivating skills are essential.
  • Strong organisational skills, as well as flair for food and presentation.
  • Amenable to working unsocial hours on a rostered basis (e.g. early mornings, evenings, weekends)
  • Knowledge of, and passion for, coffee and tea would be beneficial
